Yahoo has raised the price of their Yahoo Express submission program.

Yahoo previously charged a $299 fee to guarantee review of a commercial site for inclusion in their directory. They changed this to a $299 *ANNUAL* fee a couple days ago.

Yahoo is still a very important source of traffic to many websites and they can still be a cost effective way to drive traffic, even with this increase. Unfortunately, many sites/organizations with smaller promotion budgets might not be able to afford their price.

Also, keep in mind that $299 guarantees a *review" within 7 days. It does NOT guarantee that you will get a listing in their directory. Makes it all the more important to ensure you meet their criteria before you submit to them.

Just curious, anyone used the $299 option recently? Were you successful or not?

Good luck,

I have submitted many client sites to Yahoo with great success.

In regards to yahoo's new annual fee, non-profit sites are not subject to the annual fee, just a one time fee of $299 for the review.

Keep in mind that the $299 fee is for a review. There is no guarantee that your site will be listed and if they reject your site, you will not get a refund but you do have 30 days to appeal the rejection. (30 days to fix whatever reasons they gave you for not listing your site in their directory).
